Your future contribution

At Smoobu we are entering the next growth stage continuously driving success as a leading world-class operating system in the vacation rental sector. As our Product Director, you will actively drive the development of Smoobu as the leading software solution for small and private hosts. 

You will be the key person driving the strategic vision, development, and execution of our product roadmap. Reporting to the Managing Director and part of the senior leadership team, you will play an integral role in shaping Smoobu’s growth by deeply understanding our customers’ needs and delivering value at every stage of their journey. Your deep functional expertise in product management, dedication to customer centricity, and experience as a people-focused cross-functional leader will enable you to create solutions that delight users and drive business impact.

How you’ll add value
Strategy Development and Product Execution:
  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap aligned with Smoobu’s overall business strategy. 
  • Apply agile ways of working, adapted to our company background & requirements
  • Prioritize features and initiatives based on customer needs, business impact, and feasibility during our quarterly and sprint planning
  • Ensure seamless execution of product releases by coordinating with engineering, design, marketing, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to drive innovation and long-term growth as well as balance short-term needs.
Leadership & Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of product professionals. Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance environment that encourages innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. 
  • Act as a role model for leadership excellence, ensuring the team is motivated and equipped to meet evolving business goals.
  • Establish best product management practices, ensuring team consistency and scalability.
Customer-Centric Value Creation:
  • Deeply understand the user journey and identify opportunities to enhance customer value.
  • Incorporate customer feedback, market research, and industry trends into product development.
  • Champion customer centricity across the organization to ensure an exceptional user experience.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Engineering team to balance technical constraints with customer and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with our Engineering Director along the sprint process to ensure high quality and on-promised-time delivery of developments
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support teams to ensure alignment on product launches, go-to-market strategies, and customer communications.
You’ll be successful in this role if you
  • Bring 10+ years of experience in Product, ideally with a diverse background that includes both startup/scale-up environments and larger, more established organizations.
  • Are familiar with SaaS platforms, have  experience in SaaS business models and product development, and APIs, ideally in a B2C or “small user” environment
  • Have a proven track record of developing and executing successful product strategies that achieve business goals.
  • Think strategically and plan long-term, while making data-driven decisions and adjusting course as needed.
  • Are proficient in data analysis and performance metrics to drive informed decisions.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Have strong experience leading and inspiring cross-functional teams.

Your performance will be measured against some Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as:
  • Net active user growth
    • Sign-ups (funnel conversion(s) in product)
    • Retention rate (product-related churn/cancellation)
    • NPS
  • Bookings per user (value delivery of product)
  • ARPU (steering metric to ensure value delivery for us)
