Your future contribution
As an Engineering Team Lead, you’ll be a part of a passionate and innovative Search and Ranking team, focused on building high-performance services that are the backbone of HomeToGo’s Search. Our goal is to Make Customers Successful by delivering the most relevant list of accommodation offers for every vacation rental search. To achieve that, we especially rely on strong collaboration with our Data Science team, where we co-own Machine Learning components that optimise the ranking of our search results. Our developers are involved in the full software life-cycle and have exposure to a broad set of technologies. You will lead our Search Engineering Team, contribute to setting and executing team goals, plan the team’s work, as well as coach and mentor team members. You will also execute engineering initiatives hands-on with high autonomy and ensure a healthy ratio between technical excellence and business impact. The expected distribution of team leading vs individual contribution activities is 50/50.
How you’ll add value
  • Plan and organize quarterly goals and the day-to-day activities of the team
  • Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders to refine requirements, divide work into clear milestones, identify blockers, ensure effective cross-team collaboration
  • Facilitate technical conversations within and outside the team
  • Collaborate with the team to develop features and ensure their success through our in-house A/B testing platform
  • Choose adequate technical and business metrics to monitor features and manage risks
  • Write clean, efficient and maintainable code, evangelising coding standards and best practices to ensure the platform's stability and scalability
  • Continuously challenge status quo to and improve our services
  • Solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
  • Coach / mentor team members, foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
You’ll be successful in this role if you
  • Have minimum 5 years of experience in senior Engineering roles, including leadership experience
  • Have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
  • Have demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, define and execute OKRs using agile principles
  • Have excellent knowledge of C# and .NET
  • Have experience working with multiple stacks of programming languages and technologies or a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technological challenges on constant basis
  • Have experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub actions, Jenkins / ArgoCD (or similar) and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Are proficient in logging and monitoring system performance using Prometheus and Grafana (or similar)
  • Have experience building highly scalable, performant, and mission-critical services
  • Are fluent in English
